Brown rice is the least processed form of rice. It has the bran layer, which gives this pasta a slightly chewier tex-ture, that tan color and the nut-like flavor. Brown rice grains are higher in fiber and nutritional content - oils, Vitamin Bs and important minerals than white rice.

DIRECTIONS: In a large pot, bring 5 quarts of water to a boil. Add salt if desired. Add pasta to boiling water and cook, uncovered, 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. DO NOT OVERCOOK. Rinse and drain well. Use as you would ordinary penne.
